This will need to be booked up to 3 months prior to your big day.! Why not make the most out of your do and plan to have your hair and make up done on the same day! Also an idea to have it all done for your hen night/evening out/girls dinner? Enjoy your look for the evening!
When your meeting with your hair stylist for the first time, it is always recommended that you bring along some ideas that you had in mind. The best way is to gather photos from magazines or online. Anything that gives your stylist an idea of the kind of style you are looking at having on your big day. When you’re finding pictures to show your stylist, try to find ones that don’t stray too far from your own look and style. If you are the kind of girl who loves having her hair down and flowing, maybe it’s best to go with the look you normally go for when you dress up for an occasion, and then glam it up a notch for your wedding day.

Do you want the stylist to come to you on your wedding day at a location of your choice or would you rather come to the salon?
How many hair up’s are to be done on the day? Is it the bride and bridesmaids or will there also be mother of bride/groom, flower girls, other wedding party? Is the bridal party also having Wedding Make-Up? This needs to be decided due to precise timing.
Here at Bonita Hair & Beauty we are lucky enough to have all services and treatments available under one roof so the hair stylists and beauty therapists can discuss between them what the best thing to do for your Big Day!
If you have Colour Treated Hair: Schedule your last colour appointment for 1-2 weeks before the wedding. Do not make any drastic changes right before this time. If you are thinking about making a big change, schedule that at least 8 weeks before. This ensures that you have plenty of time to make sure it’s exactly what you want before the big day, and you can schedule a final touch-up appointment within the 2-4 weeks.
At your trial, your stylist can give you guidance on how best to look after your hair until your wedding day; whether growing it is an option or if your hair is very long or unlayered and needs cutting as in some instances it can be difficult to manage and style your hair for the perfect look.
Many people are never sure about how often they should cut their hair. The general consensus is that hair should be cut every 4-6 weeks however if you are attempting to grow your hair this could be extended to 6-8 weeks. Haircuts are not dependent on time but rather on the growth of your hair and how much it grows in a given time. The key to beautiful haircuts is that the hair is cut proportionate to the shape of one’s face. Aside from having a haircut, trimming your hair is also necessary in order to avoid split ends and secure general health of the hair itself for your hair doesn’t waste its inner forces and nutrition to cure damaged ends.
Hair care includes cleaning and moisturising the hair. Healthy hair is shiny, lustrous and silky to touch. Healthy hair is much softer than damaged hair as well. From time to time, your hair needs some keratin treatment or protein-based treatment so you do need to consult an expert stylist.
Good hair care can be the most important part of your beauty regimen. Hair is a prominent feature for most people, and conveys a high self-image and self-esteem. Rely on an expert hairstylist whose style and taste you trust. This way, you literally leave your hair in their hands with confidence.
Look after those locks. Pay special attention to hair care in the weeks before your wedding, so that your hair is shiny and healthy. If you’re unsure of the best products for your hair type, consult with your stylist.
On your wedding day, have clean, dry hair (your stylist will discuss this with you on your trial date) Avoid using a lot of conditioner on the day, especially a leave-in one. Stay away from silkening products that weigh your hair down and make it slippery to work with. For the wedding party who are having a blow-dry, their hair will be washed in salon or if out at your chosen location they will need to have their hair washed freshly on the day.
Bare in Mind: Say it rains or a wind suddenly springs up on your wedding day, and that down style you had your heart set on just isn’t working. Don’t worry—last-minute changes can be okay, so long as you and your artist are prepared! We WILL make it work 🙂
